Alterique Gilbert has missed the majority of his first two seasons of college basketball due to multiple shoulder injuries, but his new head coach still feels he can be a part of UConn’s plans moving forward.
“It’s going to be a while until he does anything with a basketball, but yeah, he’s in our plans,” UConn head coach Dan Hurley said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. “He’s recovered well from his surgery and is on track for next season. He’s in position to have a chance to change the narrative a bit around here.”
A former McDonald’s All-American, the 6-foot point guard has played a total of 254 combined minutes in each of the past two seasons.
