The best LeBron James shoe gifts of all time

A limited release of Eminem’s “Encore” Air Jordan IV saw 23 pairs of shoes up for grabs, and two of those nearly two dozen wound up in the hands (or feet) of two basketball players.

Eminem sent the first pair to Michael Jordan, then dished out another to Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James, who posted the sneakers on an Instagram story right before his team took on the Indiana Pacers.

That type of gesture is oftentimes the other way around, with the athlete giving another celeb a taste of their fashion line. Whether it’s athlete-to-celebrity or vice versa, James has been on both the giving and receiving end of shoes, and given his rolodex of contacts and his array of shoe sets, there’s a ton of ’em.

Here are some of the best:

Fort Myers girls basketball team

Know what’s sweeter than winning the first girls basketball state title in your high school’s history? Having that feat equipped with 12 pairs of LeBron sneakers.

On behalf of James, Nike sent 12 pairs of these high-top white/black kicks to Fort Myers for the achievement back in 2016.

Ohio State basketball

An Akron native, James could have probably been an All-American at Ohio State as a tight end before finding a home in the NFL. He’s gifted the university with apparel before, but came up big during the Buckeyes basketball season, dropping these all-black shoes for the PK80 Invitational.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Real recognize real, right? Odell Beckham Jr. is one of the most polarizing figures in the NFL and has no shortage of headliners when it comes to fashion, notably his pregame shoe flavor.

The New York Giants star sent James a little bit of his taste: the Air Force 1 Mid OBJs.

Kobe Bryant

During his high school career at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Ohio, James once received a pair of shoes from Kobe Bryant.

Down the final stretch of his playing career with the Los Angeles Lakers, Bryant topped off his farewell tour in 2016 by stopping inside the Cavaliers locker room and leaving James with a parting gift — the shoes right off his feet.
